Author's Ink

We grow writers!

Steph Kenific

I knew from elementary school onward that my life would be one of pen and ink. Thank God I gave up the childhood ambition to become a senator, though, as you might see, an interest in politics shines through in my writing. My favorite genres are horror and fantasy, but I read and write just about anything that sounds alright. In my spare time, I run a literary magazine that was formerly affiliated with my school but is now supported by the town I reside in. I was made editor almost as soon as I joined, which is kind of a big deal. Like me.

At school, I'm in my junior year and am well inside the Top 25 Class Rank. I can converse in Latin, French, and Spanish and consider myself to be somewhat accomplished in all three. I've won the National Latin Exam Award (Summa Cum Laude), as well. Although it doesn't bear much on my writing career, I was also a 2011 HOBY Ambassador (HOBY is an international youth leadership program) and belong to my district's Strategic Plan Committee, which is a group of teachers and administrators that make all sorts of bigwig-type decisions.

Okay, I'm done throwing out my merits, I promise. You'll probably never hear them from me again, although you will undoubtedly be on the receiving end of much sarcasm and wit. And so it begins...
